Erica Barga (2013) Barga received an Associates of Applied Science in Criminal Justice at Edison State Community College, in 2013 under Commander Joseph Mahan and has been named Chief of Police in St. Paris, Ohio. “Erica was an eager student. I am proud of her accomplishments and her willingness to serve the public. It should make all of us who teach very proud to see that someone we once taught in a basic level academy setting, rise to the ultimate level of being in charge,” states Mahan. Barga attended the second Edison State Criminal Justice Academy governed by the Ohio
Peace Officer Training Commission located in London, Ohio. Edison State Community College is a host site for the program and offers 16 semester credit hours towards an associate’s degree. Barga has three children—Kynlee (6), Kasen (4), and Korey (1) and lives in Bradford, Ohio.
Paige Barker (2014) Barker graduated in 2014 from Edison State Community College with an associate degree in Social Services and received her bachelor degree from The Ohio State University in May of 2018. She is currently a coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sister of Shelby County, where she organizes after-school care for seven elementary schools in Shelby and Darke counties. Barker has been hired by Sidney City Schools for a newly created latchkey program that will begin with the 2018–2019 school year. This program will provide kindergarten through fifth-grade students with the opportunity for before- and after-school
care complete with a variety of planned activities and special projects.
Robert "Bobby" Benshoff (2016) Benshoff is life-long resident of Sidney and a graduate of Sidney High School. He attended Edison State where he completed an associate degree in criminal justice, and has recently been sworn in as a police officer for the City of Sidney. Prior to the swearing in ceremony, Benshoff had
been employed by the Sidney Police Department as a dispatcher. Benshoff expects to graduate from the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy at Edison State.
Jackie Davis (2002) Davis is now the Chief Operating Officer at Mutual Federal, a part of First Bank–Richmond. After graduating with her Associates of Applied Business degree from Edison State Community College, Davis went on to
the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wisconsin. She has spent a total of 18 years at the bank and most recently was their Senior Vice President. Davis and her husband Dennis live in Sidney, Ohio with their two sons. She spends a lot of her time
supporting the community, serving as treasurer and board member of the Sidney County United Way and as a youth coach for the Fairlawn athletic boosters.
Dee Eilerman (2013) Eilerman has been employed as an RN with Premier Health at Upper Valley Medical Center since graduating from the Edison State Nursing program. She was hired into the Progressive Care Unit where she
worked for a year, and then transferred to the Emergency Department. She currently works full-time in Ambulatory Surgery. Eilerman serves on multiple hospital committees including the Shared Governance Coordination Council, Unit Council and Employee Communication Committee. She has also worked part-time at an oncology office in St. Mary’s. Eilerman has completed her BSN and plans to begin working towards her
Master’s in Nursing Education. Eilerman has also become a certified Zumba instructor.
Kathy Etter (2015) Etter has been promoted from administrative officer to banking officer with Second National Bank of Greenville.
She joined SNB in 2005 as a credit analyst and is currently the lead credit analyst and credit department
supervisor. Etter graduated from Edison State with an associate degree in business administration.
She also attended the Ohio Bankers League School of Commercial Lending Essentials and completed the
RMA Series 6 training program “The Decision Lending Process.” Etter resides in Piqua with her husband.
Kerri Gregg (2002) Gregg started at Edison State while attending Upper Valley Career Center, as part of the post-secondary program for Early Childhood Development. After high school, Gregg began working at a Montessori school—while continuing at Edison State. She received her Montessori teaching certification and worked at the school for twelve years. Gregg went through a career transition when she began working at an incentive company in Dayton. It was here that she
became interested in the Human Resources field. She utilized her Edison State degree as transfer credits and earned a Bachelor Degree in Business from Urbana University and a Master Degree from Franklin University—all while working full time. Gregg is now the Human Resource Manager at Norcold in Gettysburg, Ohio. She credits her
husband for supporting her for the past 20 years and for making it possible for her to work long hours to pursue her education. He often reminded her to stop doing laundry and to do her homework!
Kelly Noctor (1996) Noctor graduated from Edison State Community College in 1996 and felt extremely prepared to begin her career. She has been named the 2018 Nurse of the Year by Interim Healthcare Inc. for her exceptional level of care. Noctor goes above and beyond by volunteering her time at free clinics such as the Churchill Clinic in Churchill, Tennessee where
she spent seven years administering care. She has been married to husband Michael for twenty-nine years and has two children, Michelle and Sarah; and a granddaughter, Hayden. Noctor believes that nursing is more than just a job—it is her true calling and she feels lucky to be able to serve the community as a nurse each and every day.
Scott Rasor (2014) Rasor has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Unity National Bank. Rasor has worked in the financial sector for over 35 years in the Piqua service area. He joined Unity National Bank in 2013. Rasor studied business at Edison State
Community College and then at the Ohio School of Banking and Ohio School of Consumer Credit. In his new role, Rasor will serve as chairman of Unity National Bank's advisory board and will provide leadership in all aspects of financial lending throughout the local Unity service area. Rasor also serves as a board member for the Piqua Area United Way, a member of the City of Piqua Advisory Board and is active in the Piqua Area Chamber of Commerce.
Nancy Schuler (2012) Following her farewell party as a student and employee at Edison State, Schuler was a La Macina di San Cresci Artist Fellow in Tuscany, Italy where she completed a series of paintings of olive groves and grape fields, which she subsequently shared at the Mayflower Art Center in Troy, Ohio. Schuler then attended Wright State University full-time, receiving an honors transfer scholarship of $7,500. While at Wright State, Schuler’s art portfolio was awarded two additional art merit scholarships and she was nominated to the National Society for Leadership and Success. She was awarded the College Yeck Fellowship at the Dayton Art Institute where she was given a $1,000 stipend to create a body of work and teach art to high school students. Schuler graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wright State University with a Bachelor in Fine Arts and a minor in Art History. She then interned at the Dayton Society of Artists to complete her Arts Management
Certificate. In 2019, Schuler was hired as Interim Gallery Director where she had interned. She recently embarked upon her dream trip to the Grand Tetons with her family, where they completed a family service project to support the Little Leaders Scholarship program—a program that she had benefited from.
Eric Shoemaker (2015) Shoemaker attended Edison State to advance his career with Ohio Living Dorothy Love—a faith-based, non-profit organization. Almost immediately after receiving his Associate Degree in Business Management from Edison State, he was promoted to Executive Assistant and has subsequently been promoted to Director of Independent Living at Ohio Living Dorothy Love. In his
new role, Shoemaker will oversee the company’s independent housing and apartment buildings, ensuring the best possible independent lifestyle for the residents that occupy these spaces. Shoemaker recently married, and he and his wife Brandy have purchased their first home which they share with their miniature
dachshund named Zeke.
Brian Swinehart (2017) Swinehart graduated from Covington High School in 1998. He lives in Los Angeles, California and works in the film and entertainment industry. He is a filmmaker, stand-up comedian and actor. Swinehart moved to L.A. after attending Edison State Community College for two years. He is currently
working on a short film in the Covington area with local legend Dennis Willoughby, also known as Scooby. His film is part of the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge that provides individuals with disabilities—like Scooby—the opportunity and joy of acting. You can view Swinehart's film by clicking here.
