COVID-19 Notice | 2020–2021 Academic Year
As we prepare for the upcoming academic year, the challenges and uncertainty for delivering course content remain in this COVID-19 environment. Edison State Community College intends to provide academic courses through a variety of formats, including hybrid, remote and online. Since unanticipated circumstances at any time could affect the ability to deliver course content in a particular manner, Edison State reserves the right to modify the delivery method for course content for the health and safety of students, faculty and staff. Irrespective of the delivery format Edison State’s competitive tuition and course fee structure shall remain the same for academic courses, consistent with published Edison State tuition and fee schedules. There will be no refund or reduction on tuition or course fees, since Edison State will be providing a full semester of instruction and awarding full academic credit to those who satisfactorily fulfill course requirements.

Holiday Evening at Edison State is both a celebration and a commitment and has become The Edison Foundation's most successful scholarship fundraiser. With the generous support of event sponsors, Edison State brings world-class entertainers to our campus to celebrate the holiday season. Proceeds from this event provide scholarship opportunities to high school graduates as well as to students who may be returning to Edison State Community College to begin, change or advance their careers. Because of this event, The Edison Foundation has been able to provide over 2 million dollars in scholarship support to the students of Edison State over the past twenty-one years, facilitating their educational pursuits and dreams.
Just as Edison State has done for over forty years in response to challenges, we have reimagined our annual Holiday Evening at Edison State to feature local artists performing holiday favorites. The delivery, however, will be a bit different this year.
On December 2, 2020, at 7:30 p.m., Edison State will host a ninety-minute virtual broadcast of the 2020 Holiday Evening at Edison State Reimagined to celebrate, recognize and support our students, our partners and our caring, compassionate and resilient communities. We are featuring artists from the Edison State area—who will be performing holiday favorites—for your enjoyment from the comfort of your home or anywhere with internet access. This year's entertainment includes performances by Jimmy Felts, Quintessential Winds, William Loudermilk and The Innovation Quintet. Throughout the program, we will weave messages of gratitude, tributes to Edison State alumni who are essential workers, compelling student scholarship stories and a special feature in support of our local entertainment and restaurant industries.
In lieu of the phenomenal food offered annually at Holiday Evening at Edison State—this year's event will extend beyond student scholarships to include local restaurants. Each ticket for our Reimagined event entitles the purchaser to receive a $25 gift certificate redeemable at your choice of one of the following local restaurants, including Basil's On Market, The Caroline, Coldwater Café, El Tequila Mexican Bar & Grill, Harrison's, Hickory River, JT's Brew & Grill, The Merchant House, Montage Café, Sharp's Tavern, Smith's Boathouse, The Bridge, 3 Joe's Pizzeria, Tavolo Modern Italian or the Turtle Creek Golf Course.
Due to COVID-19, our efforts to respond to community needs make The Edison Foundation Scholarship program even more important. Proceeds will also be targeted to the new Student Emergency Fund. While challenges are not always easy, we are excited to present the 23rd Annual Holiday Evening at Edison State in support of our students, local musicians and restaurants—innovating our tradition to support the needs of the Edison State area.
