Find It at Edison State Community College…where you can realize your dreams.

We believe that Edison State allows people to dream and provide the opportunities for those people to realize their dreams. While focusing on student success and completion, Edison State will remain an open-door institution that strives for both high academic standards and high rates of student retention and success. We instill trust and integrity and deliver an accessible, affordable, transferable education to promote economic development and diversity in the communities of Miami, Darke and Shelby counties.

At Edison State, we consistently hear that citizens are seeking employment to better contribute to their communities and we listen to employers who are in search of prepared skilled workers to strengthen the workforce and build stronger economic viability in our region. We endeavor to provide the academic programs and worker training to bridge employment gaps and prepare students for successful transfer and/or completion. We keep your skills cutting-edge by responding to employer demand with new and relevant academic programs. Edison State now offers more than 30 associate degrees options, one-year and career enhancement certificates in Nursing, Manufacturing, Physical Therapist Assistant, Engineering, Liberal Arts, Business, Science and Math.

From our modest beginnings in 1973 in a rented facility, Edison State has grown in stages to its current campus, located on 131 acres in Piqua. Its enrollment and offerings have grown steadily during its brief history, from 309 students enrolled in 30 courses in 1973 to more than 4,500 students enrolled today in approximately 30 technical fields, a broad range of baccalaureate transfer programs, developmental course work, and continuing education offerings.

Edison State Community College offers five different degrees, two of which are designed for transferring to a four-year college or university, and three that prepare graduates for immediate employment. Providing modern campus facilities and leading-edge computer and Internet technology, Edison State Community College cannot be surpassed for its learning environment.

For several years now, Edison State has been the first choice of area students. To accommodate enrollment growth and to meet the evolving needs of our students, we also continue to transform and add to our buildings, classrooms, laboratories, parking lots, walkways and green space. Take a tour of our campus and you’ll find Edison State is a great place to “find yourself.”

Edison State is quickly becoming a vital player in the economic success of our area. Enhancing economic development in southwest Ohio, we are partnering with corporations in programs that lead to the development of innovative curriculum for our students—and that means jobs for our graduates.

While our students are diverse in age, ethnicity, academic background and academic goals, they share the common goal of wanting educational and training programs that lead to rewarding careers and financial stability for themselves and their families. For 40 years our faculty and staff have been providing exactly that, effectively “changing lives and realizing dreams.”
