    The Valley Church is an innovative, growing, multi-site church with over 1,200 in attendance each Sunday and with locations in Piqua, Troy, Sidney, Rushsylvania, as well as online.

    The School of Leadership combines a top notch educational experience at Edison State Community College with real world work experience, practical leadership training, valuable life experiences and a personal mentor at The Valley Church.

     Graphic Design

    Personal Mentor—Communications Director

    Learning Opportunities

    • Create high quality graphics and visuals for digital, web, print and social media
    • Brand design for events and marketing
    • Transform design visions into reality
    • Offer advice for proper marketing and design choices
    • Update and maintain the website, social media and Church app on a regular basis
    • Support the technical team during peak production periods
    • Assist with stage set design

     Web Design

    Personal Mentor—Communications Director

    Learning Opportunities

    • Help production team monitor and maintain live streaming platforms
    • Create or consult with third-party developers to implement projects beyond the current scope of the website
    • Utilize Google analytics to track user statistics and any goals/campaigns
    • Use online form builders to construct custom forms that gather and deliver information for all departments
    • Maximize search engine optimization on the website
    • Offer leadership in planning, developing and maintaining the organization's technology platforms including web and mobile
    • Work with various ministries and departments to ensure the organization's web presence fulfills ministry goals of reaching online users with key information that is both timely and within brand standards

     Early Childhood Education

    Personal Mentor—Family Pastor

    Learning Opportunities

    • Plan and organize periodic outreach events and develop a strategy for engaging visiting and first-time families
    • Create/organize curriculum for the purpose of spiritual formation
    • Recruit, train and schedule volunteers for weekly children's services
    • Plan special seasonal events for children and families
    • Organize training sessions for children's volunteers
    • Create and assist in implementing set designs for children's areas
    • Assist in the purchase, distribution and use of Children's Ministry equipment and supplies
    • Assist with social media pages for Children's Ministry

     Marketing

    Personal Mentor—Communications Director

    Learning Opportunities

    • Plan, sequence and execute a multi-faceted marketing plan, integrating all available digital and in-person communication channels
    • Create marketing plans for various sermon series, events and ministries and effectively communicate needs and timelines to pull deliverable needs from the staff team
    • Capture and help tell stories of positive changes happening in the lives of people
    • Help ensure quality and consistency of The Valley Church brand on all communications
    • Assist in coming up with new ways to reach people
    • Brainstorm ideas for upcoming events
    • Write and distribute press releases about key events
    • Work with the team to resource the campuses and weekend services with print pieces, media, signage and other outward-reaching pieces of communication
    • Provide assistance, input and ideas for special events, projects, videos, etc.

     Business

    Personal Mentor—Campus Pastor

    Learning Opportunities

    • Plan 1–2 professional developmental trainings per year for The Valley staff
    • Organize and execute several trainings per year for those in the School of Leadership, Residents and those in our Leadership Development Program
    • Assist in the finding of housing for students in our Residency program
    • Design team building and fun activities for The Valley staff and those in the leadership development programs
    • Brainstorm and execute on generosity initiatives with the Campus Pastor
    • Assist the Campus Pastor in writing a comprehensive staff policy manual
    • Work with the facility director to improve the physical campus
    • Create and maintain an inventory of all church equipment and property
