Each semester, the College recognizes a faculty or adjunct faculty member and a staff member with an Employee of the Semester award. The American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) has announced the 2024 Dale P. Parnell Faculty Distinction Recognition recipients, which includes Beka Lindeman, Associate Professor of English at Edison State Community College. The AACC recognized recipients during the Outstanding Alumni and Dale P. Parnell Distinguished Faculty brunch, part of its annual conference recently held in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Edison State Community College Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) inducted 27 new members during a recent ceremony at the Piqua Campus. Each semester, PTK invites students to join the honor society based on academic criteria.

The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) has granted initial accreditation to Edison State Community College’s Emergency Medical Services–Paramedic program. CAAHEP granted a five-year approval on March 15, 2024, on the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).

Paige Kiley, Director of Financial Aid at Edison State Community College, earned the FAAC® designation from the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators’ (NASFAA) accredited Certified Financial Aid Administrator® (CFAA) Program.

Walmart provided a $1,500 local community grant to The Edison Foundation, which it received on behalf of Edison State Community College. The College will use the grant to improve the Veterans’ Lounge at the Piqua Campus. Nathan Kelly, Store Manager of the Piqua Walmart, visited campus on Wednesday, July 23, during which he presented a grant check and toured the Veterans’ Lounge.

The Institutional Actions Council (IAC) of the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) granted approval to Edison State Community College to offer its first bachelor’s degree: Registered Nursing (RN) to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
