The Ohio Community College Athletic Conference named Justin McCulla, Edison State Community College’s Athletics Director and Assistant Commissioner for the OCCAC, the 2024-25 Michael Rickard OCCAC Athletics Director of the Year.

“I’m truly honored to be named the OCCAC Athletics Director of the Year,” McCulla said. “This recognition is a reflection of the incredible coaches, student-athletes, and staff I have the privilege to work alongside every day.”

The Chargers brought home conference titles in both women’s basketball and softball this past season. Sixteen Edison State student-athletes earned All-OCCAC honors, including a clean sweep of the annual awards for softball.

“It has been a pleasure to work with many outstanding leaders in the conference over the years,” said McCulla. “I look forward to continuing our shared efforts to improve the student-athlete experience.”

McCulla has long been known for his selflessness in consistently working for the betterment of the conference in several roles beyond athletics director. His commitment to sportsmanship extends to the Edison State programs and their coaches and student-athletes.
