Students in Edison State Community College’s Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program took part in a CareFlight demonstration on Tuesday, November 5. They learned how to identify landing zones, communicate with CareFlight about landing and takeoff, and properly load a patient.

Edison State Community College welcomed 340 students ranging from sixth to 12th grades for a day of learning and fun during the 17th annual Women in STEMM Expo, held on Friday, November 8. The daylong program aims to boost young women’s interest in the science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine (STEMM) career fields.

Respiratory Care Program Receives Provisional Accreditation

The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) has granted provisional accreditation to Edison State Community College’s Respiratory Care program. This approval allows the College to admit its first class of up to 14 students into the program.
Edison State Hosting STNA Class in Troy Beginning January 28

Edison State Community College will host State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) training beginning on January 28, 2025. This course provides students with local classroom and clinical training led by experienced instructors and allows them to begin working as an STNA in a few short weeks.

In recent years, Edison State Community College’s Piqua Campus has lost many trees because of the removal of diseased ash trees, environmental factors, and building additions. To maintain a welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and the community, the College aims to plant 50 trees or more as part of its 50th Anniversary celebration.
