A–Z Effective Board Award Program

A self-evaluation tool created by the Edison State Center for Leadership Development to help nonprofit boards assess their effectiveness, track progress toward organizational goals, and recognize outstanding board leadership in the region. Boards submit the completed checklist by April 30 for consideration, and qualifying organizations are honored at the Mosaic of Community Leadership Conference each May at Edison State Community College.

The annual conference held each May, brings together executive directors, board members, staff and volunteers, including the current Academy participants and alumni, to explore in-depth topics related to nonprofit management and leadership. The conference features morning and afternoon breakout education and work sessions led by nonprofit professionals. Sessions at the conference include topics such as 1) Grant Application and Management; 2) Nonprofit Financial Considerations; 3) Recruitment and Managing Volunteers; 4) Legal Obligations of Nonprofit Leaders; 5) Grant Funding Information Network; 6) Board Recruitment and Development; 7) Marketing and Public Relations; and 8) Leadership Development.

To help area employees strengthen their foundational skills in CNC mill programming, Edison State Community College’s Office of Workforce Development & Work-Based Learning is offering a CNC Mill Programming workshop. The in-person workshop will take place on Tuesday, May 5, Wednesday, May 6, and Thursday, May 7. The department will hold classes from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, totaling 24 hours, at Edison State’s Piqua Campus.
