Holmes, Wackler Appointed to Edison State Board of Trustees

Governor Mike DeWine has appointed Lawrence D. Holmes of Greenville and Trisha L. Wackler of Lewisburg to the Edison State Community College Board of Trustees. Both terms took effect on October 31, 2025; Holmes’ term will end January 17, 2031, while Wackler’s term will end January 17, 2029.

Governor Mike DeWine has appointed Lawrence D. Holmes of Greenville and Trisha L. Wackler of Lewisburg to the Edison State Community College Board of Trustees. Both terms took effect on October 31, 2025; Holmes’ term will end January 17, 2031, while Wackler’s term will end January 17, 2029.

Holmes spent most of his professional career at Fort Recovery Industries, retiring in 2020 as CFO with 43 years of service. He then served four years as a Darke County Commissioner. Holmes graduated from Greenville Senior High School and Wright State University with a Master of Business Administration in Financial Administration.

He taught for eight years as an adjunct instructor of accounting and finance at Wright State University and has been active in community and professional organizations, including serving on the Greenville City School Board and as a trustee for St. Mary’s Catholic School. He has also served as a board member for several other local organizations, such as Wayne Industries Non-profit, the Greenville YMCA, the Garst Museum, and Youth for Christ.

Wackler is the Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Upper Valley Medical Center. She has been with Upper Valley Medical Center for seven years and with Premier Health for over 30 years. A registered nurse, Wackler completed her associate’s degree in nursing at Sinclair Community College, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Capital University, and a dual-degree Master of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix.

As part of her leadership journey with Premier Health, she served as the Chief Learning Officer, focusing on academic partnerships for talent pipelines. She developed several programs, including a nursing capstone program for early hiring with Premier Health hospitals and a program at Upper Valley Medical Center that provides apprenticeship opportunities, leading to employment for Miami County high school students. Wackler also serves on the boards of the Troy Chamber of Commerce and Wayne HealthCare.

Edison State’s Board of Trustees includes three representatives from each county in its primary service area—Darke, Miami, and Shelby.
