For the second year in a row, Edison State Community College has seen its highest number of enrolled students, with the College celebrating a record 4,662 students taking classes during the fall 2025 semester. On Monday, August 25, faculty started the new academic year with full rosters in both in-person and online classes.

“Edison State is once again excited to see a record number of students enroll this fall semester,” said Edison State President Chris Spradlin. “It is a testament to the outstanding work of our faculty and staff, who dedicate themselves to helping students complete their educational goals and realize their dreams. It also signals strong support from the communities we serve.”

He added, “All institutions of higher education are experiencing significant changes in student demographics and enrollment patterns, and Edison State is no exception. However, the College’s student-friendly service model and its flexible online and hybrid course options have paved the way for the growth we continue to see in the College Credit Plus program and in online and hybrid courses.”

For the fall 2025 semester, 2,445 students are taking at least one online course, an 8% increase from the fall of 2024. The College has 3,286 CCP students enrolled this fall, up 5% from last year.

“It is our honor at Edison State to serve students in the ways that work best for them, and we are eager to see the success they will have at the College and beyond,” Spradlin said.

Since 1973, Edison State has followed in the footsteps of its namesake, Thomas Alva Edison, earning a reputation for being an innovator in providing accessible, quality education and training opportunities for students. The College currently offers over 100 degrees and certificates; four accessible in-person locations at Piqua, Troy, Greenville, and Eaton; and convenient online learning options to meet the demands of a growing workforce and diverse schedules.
