Edison Stagelight Players to Present “The Brothers Grimm: A Collection of Fairy Tales”
The Edison Stagelight Players will present “The Brothers Grimm: A Collection of Fairy Tales” from October 16 to 25, 2026, in the Robinson Theater at Edison State Community College’s Piqua Campus.
October 7, 2026
The production features a cast of 26 and includes seven familiar Grimm tales: “Hansel and Gretel,” “Sleeping Beauty,” “Rapunzel,” “The Bremen Town Musicians,” “The Robber Bridegroom,” “Rumpelstiltskin,” and “Doctor Know-All.”
The play combines humor, suspense, adventure, and some darker fairy-tale moments as the cast brings these stories to life on stage. Audiences will encounter familiar characters and themes of courage, fear, deception, hope, choices, and consequences.
Edison State adjunct instructor Emily Beisner is directing the production. Beisner is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in theatre and has directed and performed in productions at Edison State and throughout the local theatre community.
Public performances of the show will take place on:
- Friday, October 16, at 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, October 17, at 7:30 p.m.
- Friday, October 23, at 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, October 24, at 7:30 p.m.
- Sunday, October 25, at 3 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for adults.
The Edison Stagelight Players will also offer two special school performances on Tuesday, October 20, and Wednesday, October 21, at 9:30 a.m. School tickets are $4 per student.
Teachers can use the production as an opportunity to compare the traditional tales with the stage versions or to discuss how acting, costumes, scenery, music, movement, and design help turn a written story into a live performance.
For questions or reservations, contact Karen Baker, Manager of Academic Programs. Questions about the production may also be directed to Professor of English William Loudermilk.
