The Edison Foundation Recognizes Scholarship Recipients at Annual Celebration

The Edison Foundation at Edison State Community College recognized over 90 students during its annual scholarship celebration on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the Piqua Campus. With 120 students, family, and donors in attendance, the event provided recipients with the opportunity to meet the patrons who made their scholarships available.

“Edison State is blessed with phenomenal students, staff, and supporters,” said Dr. Rick Hanes, VP of Advancement, Strategic Planning, & Partnerships and Executive Director of The Edison Foundation. “Our annual scholarship celebration brings everyone together to meet, reflect, and share our thanks.”

The Edison Foundation awarded $186,450 in academic and need-based scholarships for the 2026-27 academic year. These awards recognize academic achievement, personal determination, and community spirit, helping students pursue their goals with meaningful financial support. This year’s recipients represent a wide range of programs and ambitions, and The Edison Foundation’s investment ensures they can move forward with confidence and opportunity.

The scholarship application for the 2027-28 academic year is now open and will close on February 1, 2027. This application allows students to be considered for one of over 38 available scholarships. The Edison Foundation awards funds based on several criteria, including academic achievement, athletic participation, financial need, hobbies, college major, and community involvement.
