Emergency Medical Technician Short-term Technical Certificate 

Gain the skills needed to—


  • perform emergency medical technician responsibilities while following medical, legal, and ethical standards, and under the guidance of medical professionals.
  • use knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology, along with effective communication skills, to care for patients of all ages who have different health issues and injuries.
  • recognize and perform immediate lifesaving actions to manage airway, breathing, and circulation; control bleeding; and treat wounds and fractures.

Essential Knowledge

The curriculum covers all aspects of emergency and pre-hospital medical care. Successful completion of the certificate program will allow qualified students to register for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Exam.
