Edison State Community College recognizes 733 students for excellence in academics on the Fall 2024 Semester Dean’s List. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must have at least a 3.5 GPA and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

The Edison State Community College Art Department is featuring artist, curator, and designer Tobi Ewing during its March exhibition. The department will display the exhibit, “in the FACE of FEAR,” in the Anne Vaccaro and David Myers Gallery at the Piqua Campus during normal campus hours until March 28, 2025.

The Human Resource Management program provides students with the skills and knowledge of federal, state, and local laws needed to effectively manage a company's and its employees' employment-related issues. Students will learn how to carefully hire employees, develop compensation and benefit plans, create employee training and development programs, implement plant safety and industrial hygiene programs, and handle labor negotiations.

The Medical Assistant Certificate prepares the student for employment in ambulatory health care settings, such as a physician’s office or urgent care clinic. This is a career choice for those who enjoy helping others, are detail-oriented and are looking for a career that is in demand. Medical assistants are considered a valuable member of the health care team and care for patients by providing routine treatment and performing laboratory and/or office duties such as scheduling and greeting patients; insurance billing and coding; managing and maintaining medical records; obtaining and recording vital signs; interviewing patients to obtain medical histories and chief complaints; and assisting with examinations as a medical scribe.

The Medical Coder Certificate provides students with the skills necessary to work in billing offices of hospitals, nursing homes and physicians’ offices. Students in this program are prepared to complete, review and process medical claims to help physicians and hospitals get reimbursed from insurance companies for services and facilities provided to patients. Individuals in this field also help prevent fraudulent medical claims and/or errors in payments and utilize the verbal skills needed to contact insurance companies regarding claims.
