  • Women in STEMM

Edison State Community College is gearing up for our fifteenth annual Women in STEMM Expo professional conference for young women—a broad-based introduction to STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine) and its relationship to different vocations and careers. While young men are welcome, the focus is on girls due to their continuing under-participation in STEMM fields.

This all-day expo provides an introduction to STEMM and its application to different careers. During the day, students explore and apply STEMM related interactive activities and technology to work on real-world solutions. Topics for this year's breakout sessions include Human Simulator, CSI@Edison State, Barbie Bungee Jumping, Chemistry Can Blow Your Mind, Power of Business and more! Download descriptive information on this year's breakout sessions here.

Participants have the opportunity to win a new tablet or other prizes by entering the Women In STEMM Expo Photo Challenge!

SUBJECT: When I grow up, I want to be…  Your challenge is to examine careers within the science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine (STEMM) fields. Identify one STEMM career to "showcase" by taking a photo of YOURSELF depicting this career. Portray yourself as though you are currently in this chosen career. Originality and creativity will be factors as photos are reviewed to choose the BEST photo submission! Click here for contest rules.

We anticipate a capacity crowd, so please register early! Registration for the 2022 Women in STEMM Expo is NOW CLOSED. An informational flyer can be downloaded here.
