    International students are required to be enrolled in a degree program as full-time students (12 or more credit hours) each semester. Fall semester begins in August; Spring semester begins in January. Fees must be paid before the beginning of each term.

    COMPLETE and UPLOAD  The following items must be completed and uploaded via the Admissions Portal prior to the issuance of an I-20.

    • Proof of English proficiency. F-1 students must provide evidence of English proficiency by submitting test scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or IELTS. Information on the TOEFL can be found here.
      Qualifying scores are—500 on the paper-based TOEFL exam; 173 on the computer-based TOEFL exam; 61 on the internet-based TOEFL exam; OR 6 on the IELTS.
    • Submit two (2) letters of recommendation from your principal, headmaster, advisor or major professor from the last school attended OR from you employer.
    • Include a 300–500 word handwritten statement about your educational background and goals.
    • Submit proof of adequate financial support. Edison State cannot issue an I-20 without verification of sufficient funds. It is estimated that an international student will need a minimum of $24,436 per year for tuition and living expenses while attending Edison State. Total funding required is $48,872.
      Adequate funding for your education and living expenses in the United States is a critical factor in successfully obtaining your student Visa. You are required to submit official financial documentation and official letter(s) verifying that these funds will be available to you for the duration of your education and stay in this country.

    International students with F-1 status (maintaining minimum course load for full-time status) are eligible to work on campus, but are not permitted to work off-campus.

    On-campus housing is unavailable at Edison State Community College. Students will need to commute to the college, make their own housing arrangements and provide their own transportation.

    Any transcript(s) for credits earned outside of the United State must be sent to the credential evaluation agency listed below. Transcripts for credits earned in the United States do not need to be evaluated.
