NOTE  These programs prepare students to obtain state certification and credentials necessary for their chosen career field.

  • Multiple Application Periods  The Edison State Registered Nursing program offers two distinct application periods, allowing more students to enter the program, at a time that is convenient to them.
  • Focus on Health Sciences  Edison State at Troy was established to meet the needs of the growing healthcare industry and is positioned to be the center of healthcare education and training in the Upper Miami Valley.

The Health Sciences pathway offers seven specific program options.

LPN/ADN Transition

Full-Time

LPN/ADN Transition

For an LPN licensed in Ohio, who is interested in becoming a registered nurse. Upon completion, students may to take the NCLEX for licensure. 

Medical Laboratory Technician

Full-Time

Medical Laboratory Technician

Designed for those who want to help physicians diagnose/treat patients via obtaining/testing biological samples.

Physical Therapist Assistant

Full-Time

Physical Therapist Assistant

Students learn to provide services under the direction and supervision of physical therapists via rehabilitative therapies for various people and reasons.

Registered Nursing

Full-Time

Registered Nursing

Master the skills needed to provide health care services to patients in various settings. Upon completion, students may take the NCLEX for licensure.

RN to BSN Completion Program

Full-Time

RN to BSN Completion Program

Focus is on the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to practice evidence-based, client-centered nursing. 

Respiratory Care

Full-Time

Respiratory Care

Acquire skills to assess and treat patients in managing and controlling breathing-related problems resulting from disease, trauma or developmental issues.

Veterinary Technician

Full-Time & Part-Time

Veterinary Technician

Training in animal husbandry, dentistry, radiology and more. Technicians are required to work under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian.

The Health Sciences pathway also offers technical certificates that students can obtain to increase their skills and advance their careers.

    Edison State offers technical certificates within career program areas. Courses outlined in each certificate can lead to an Associate degree for the program sponsoring the certificate. Students generally receive certificates for the completion of 30-37 semester hours of coursework. A certificate can be completed in twelve months.

    Short-Term Technical Certificates give students the skills needed to enter a new career field or to advance in their current role and can be completed in under a year.
