    Charger Contest Winners

After pouring through the submissions to the Chargers' Day Contest, our panel of three judges (which included a member of the Board of Trustees, a marketing specialist and a regional location representative) provided our selection committee with three (3) deserving candidates per category. The selection committee carefully considered the recommended entries and after much deliberation, agreed upon our Chargers's Day Contest winners.

    1. Grand Prize—Roger Fulk
One of the judges described Roger's entry as a "very complete, doable and fun slate of activities." With a menu of Charlie the Charger themed foods, a student/faculty/staff lightning costume contest and a plethora of activities that include Charlie the Charger running the halls, we are very excited to start planning the first annual Chargers' Day.
    2. Runner Up—Leah Baumhauer
Leah's idea of using Chargers' Day to "charge up" is a great representation of what being an Edison State Charger is all about. Her submitted activities include random acts of kindness, a battery recycling drive and healthy snacks—among other things. A celebration around charging up the campus and community is a perfect fit.
    3. Honorable Mention—Ryan Lusk
Ryan's idea for Chargers' Day was titled "Recharge the Community" and included numerous community volunteering ideas which the judges felt was a shining example of the Edison State spirit.
    4. Most Creative Attire—Mercedes Beasley
The judges loved the idea of a Charger fashion show with suggested outfits including a lightning bolt costume, lightning bolt face paint and an outfit made out of actual chargers.
    5. Most Creative Food—Brittney Suhr
Brittney's food suggestions included a fantastical lightning bolt cake and lightning bolt shaped pizza slices.

Thank you to EVERYone who submitted entries. The above winners will be working with the Student Senate to put these suggestions into action for next year's first annual Chargers' Day!
