Major  Information Technology (Computer Science Transfer)

My plans after graduation  I plan to transfer to Bowling Green State University to get my bachelor's degree in computer science.

About me  I was born on July 10, 1999 in Sidney, Ohio. I grew up and went to school in Bellefontaine. I am a first-generation college student.

What I am passionate about  I am very passionate about technology, as well as photography, music and snowboarding.

What I like to do in my free time  I enjoy traveling and immersing myself in new cultures. I am a huge people person and enjoy making new friends anywhere I go. I also try to do at least one thing each day that intimidates me—whether it is public speaking or skydiving—to broaden my comfort zone and expand my life experiences.

My favorite instructor  Up to this point, my favorite instructor at Edison State is Mr. Ruddick. His communications class pushes us out of our comfort zones and it part of the reason that I decided to challenge myself to try new things on a regular basis. He is an awesome professor and he truly cares about the students that he teaches.

The language that I would like to instantly learn  If I could instantly learn another language, it would be French. I am fascinated with the culture and history, as well as the romance, places and people aspect of it.

My career goals are  I plan on graduating with a bachelor's degree and then would like to find an entry level programmer position—eventually working my way up to a position as a software engineer.

What influenced my decision to choose this major  I grew up loving games like Roller Coaster Tycoon and The Sims. I hung out in my grandparents' office because they always had the latest and greatest computer equipment. I eventually learned about the internals, different operating systems and processes involved in building a machine. I started to piece together different hardware and ended up building my own gaming desktop and my passion grew from there.
