    Boz Howard

    Russia, Ohio
    Systems Administrator, A.A.B.

Boz is a first-generation college student.

I am an IT student pursuing multiple associate degrees at Edison State. I work at the Edison State IT Help Desk and as a statistician at Edison State basketball and volleyball games. I am also an Eagle Scout.

What are you passionate about?  I am passionate about music, technology and the outdoors.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?  I enjoy listening to (and sometimes playing) music,  playing video games, being outdoors and spending time with my friends.

Who is your favorite instructor, coach or mentor?  My favorite mentor would have to be Maura Felts, the Customer Service Specialist at the Edison State Information Desk. Maura has given me so much valuable guidance and support and is extremely genuine, caring and intelligent. Having the opportunity to work with her every day has been a true blessing.

If you could instantly become fluent in another language, what would it be?  I would choose French. I interact often with people who speak French and it would be fun to speak with them in their language.

What school activities, clubs or sports are you involved in?  I am the president of the Edison State Student Senate and the Edison State National Society for Leadership and Success (NSLS) chapter. I am also the vice president of the Edison State Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) chapter.

What are your career goals?  My goal is to be in a position where I can help others.

What influenced your decision to choose the particular major/career path that you are in?  When I entered college I had no idea what I wanted to do. After speaking with Edison State faculty members from various degree programs, I made the decision to major in IT. The IT faculty had amazing personalities that were in step with mine and they were so passionate about what they were teaching. They made my decision a very easy one.
