Understanding course prerequisites  Prerequisites are requirements that must be met prior to enrollment into a college course. Prerequisite requirements vary by course. Common prerequisites may require students to attain college-ready benchmark scores in both reading AND writing (i.e. ENG 121) OR math (MTH 122) to be eligible for enrollment. Students must satisfy all prerequisites prior to course enrollment.

Keep in mind that not all course have prerequisites  Students who gain eligibility to the CCP program but who do not meet reading and writing OR math prerequisites can still take courses that have no prerequisites requirements.

    • Some courses may require additional prerequisite course work in addition to qualifying assessment scores.
    • A combination of qualifying scores from different testing methods may be utilized to determine course eligibility.

Multiple Measures  In addition to assessment scores, course eligibility may be determined through Multiple Measures procedures. Multiple Measures assessment evaluates a student's course eligibility based upon several factors, including student's high school transcript, high school GPA and assessment scores.
