  • The 25&UP FINISH FAST tuition waiver applies to select accelerated associate degree, short-term technical certificates or one-year certificates offered in-person or online at Edison State. For approved applicants who continue to meet the eligibility requirements, the waiver covers 100% of the base tuition rate. Tuition rates are charged per credit hour and include the instructional fee, general fee, technology fee, activity fee and career services fee. Any financial aid awarded to the student will pay first.

The waiver does not cover the cost of textbooks and other course supplies, lab fees for individual courses, the security fee, proficiency exam fee, portfolio evaluation fee, student records fee, online course fee and web-flex course fee. Repeat courses are not covered by the tuition waiver.

Initial eligibility for the 25&UP FINISH FAST tuition waiver is established through an application process. New applicants for this program are no long being accepted.

    • Waiver recipients must complete the FAFSA each year. Verification requirements must be completed prior to the start of the semester.
    • Waiver eligibility expires upon program completion.
    • Waiver recipients must be 25 years of age or older by the start of the first day of classes and must be an Ohio resident.
    • Students must remain continuously enrolled (fall and spring) and in good academic standing to retain waiver eligibility.
    • Edison State reserves the right to amend or cancel this tuition waiver program due to capacity issues at any time.

    • Waiver eligibility criteria must be verified each semester before the waiver is applied to students' accounts.
    • This is a last-dollar waiver that is applied to students' accounts after all other grants and/or scholarships are awarded. Students MUST accept any grants and/or scholarships that may be awarded before receiving the waiver. If other forms of financial aid cover tuition charges for the semester, the waiver will not be applied.

    • Accelerated associate degree programs take one year, plus one-half or one full semester to complete, assuming that no developmental coursework is needed.
    • Certificates will take approximately one year to complete.
    • Short-term technical certificates can be completed in as little as one semester.

The 25&UP FINISH FAST tuition waiver allows students to count prior learning experience as credit toward their accelerated associate degree, certificate or short-term technical certificate. For more information on this option, visit
