and Supply Chain Management
Introduction to business logistics as a functional area within
business. Includes the role of materials management and
physical distribution. Survey of customer service, order
processing, information flow, transportation, warehousing,
purchasing, inventory, and system design and organization.

LOG 111S Transportation Management
Analysis of current methods of transportation used to deliver
goods. Topics include exploration of the infrastructure of
each form of transportation, how it developed into what it is
today, and where the field is going in the future. Other
topics include how government directs transportation in the
areas of safety, needs of the economy, and national policy.

LOG 112S Warehousing Basics
An introduction to the efficient and effective operations of
the warehouse as well as its importance to an organization’s
supply chain. Also includes the role of the warehouse in the
distribution and storage of goods.

Logistics
A study of global logistics with emphasis on looking at the
whole world as one potential market. The global supply
chain includes issues such as import/export regulations.

LOG 250S Supply Chain Management
Advanced course in logistics designed to cover all of the
logistics functions and their relationship to business
strategy. Case studies and team projects will allow students
to apply what they have learned to real life examples.
Prerequisite: LOG 110S and two other logistics courses.
