Pell Grants
Federal grants ranging
from $400 to $4,050 for the academic year are available to
students enrolled in one or more credit hours. Eligibility
is based on financial need.
Federal
Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants
Limited
federal grants are awarded to students demonstrating high
financial need.
Ohio
Instructional Grants
The Ohio
Board of Regents awards these grants to Ohio residents enrolled
in Ohio institutions of higher education on a full-time
basis. Grants range from $168 to $2,190 for the academic
year. Application is covered through the Free Application
for Federal Student Aid.
Childcare Grants
Childcare Grants
are awarded each year to students who can demonstrate
financial need and have successfully completed 6 credit
hours. Application forms are available from the Welcome
Center in Student Services Room 020. This grant helps cover
child care costs at the Edison Child Care Center and can be
renewed for a second year if all criteria are met. Students
wishing to renew should fill out a new application. The
application deadline is May 31st.
Federal
Stafford Loan
Subsidized and
unsubsidized loans are available to students who are enrolled
for at least six credit hours. The annual program maximums
are as follows:
- Grade
Level 1 - independent student: $3,500 Base Stafford
Loan. Additional Unsubsidized Stafford Loan.
- Grade
Level 1 - dependent student: $3,500 Base Stafford Loan.
Parent (PLUS) Loan.
- Grade
Level 2 - Independent student: $4,500 Base Stafford
Loan. Additional Unsubsidized Stafford Student Loan.
- Grade
Level 2 - dependent student: $4,500 Subsidized Stafford
Loan. Parent (PLUS) Loan.

Federal Plus
Loan
Parents of dependent students may borrow up to the cost of
education minus financial aid. Repayment begins immediately and
no FAFSA is required.

Student Stafford Loans
You must complete entrance counseling to access the master
promissory note.
**Entrance Loan Counseling and MPN:
Students are required to successfully complete entrance
counseling before being granted access to the online MPN. Once
entrance counseling has been completed, you must choose “next”
to complete the Master Promissory Note. (In order to sign and
submit your MPN online, you must have your Department Of
Education Pin Number.) To

College
Work-Study
The
College Work-Study program provides part-time employment for
students enrolled for a minimum of six credit hours. CWS
students work in campus positions for up to 20 hours per week at
the current minimum wage. The Student Financial Aid Office
administers two work-study programs: the federally funded
work-study program and the institutional work-study
program. Applicants must submit the Free Application for
Federal Student Aid in order to establish eligibility for the
federal work-study program. Applicants for either program
must also submit a CWS application form available from the
Office of Student Financial Aid. Employment is dependent
on available funding. Fall semester applicants should
apply by priority deadline. Contract must be signed before
employment begins.
Ohio War Orphans Scholarship
The State Grants and Scholarships Office covers educational
expenses for children of deceased or disable veterans who
qualify under program guidelines. Additional information
and applications are available at high schools.
Application deadline is July 1.
Ohio Safety Officers College
Memorial Fund
These scholarships are available for children and spouse of a
peace officer or firefighter who was killed in the line of
duty. Applicant must be an Ohio resident; child must be
under age 26. Contact the Student Financial Aid Office.
National Guard Scholarship
This scholarship is available to eligible members of the Ohio
National Guard who are enrolled in college on a full-time
basis. The award covers 100% of instructional and general
fees. Contact the ONG office at 614-336-7143.
Vocational Rehabilitation
The Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation (BVR) covers educational
expenses for eligible persons with disabilities. Apply at
the local BVR office.
Veteran's Benefits

Benefits ranging from the cost of instructional fees up to a
stipend of $1,321 per month are available to veterans who qualify
under Veterans Administration (VA) guidelines. Benefits
also are available to the children and spouses of veterans on
active duty, veterans with
a service-connected disability or veterans who died of
service-connected causes. The office of Student Financial
Aid administers the following VA programs:

Eligibility for these programs is
determined by the VA. Required forms and pertinent
information are available online or from the office of Student
Financial Aid. Apply at least four months before classes
begin; Fall Semester applicants should apply by April 1.
Veteran's Note:
Veterans must declare a degree program and obtain an advisor's
signature each semester.
