online class is placement into college level reading and writing and
completion of the NET 100S class or XLN 100S Online Workshop.

XLN 100S Online
Workshop Information
The XLN 100S Online
Proficiency Workshop is designed to test your preparedness for
online learning and proficiency in using the online learning tools.
It will cover time management, organization, internet skills, and
the use of Blackboard 7.
Schedule of XLN Online Readiness Workshops Enrollment is limited to
20 per section. For sections with the same start date, the
lower numbered section is filled before opening the other section.
Sections are added as necessary to meet demand.
Workshops run from
Wednesday to Tuesday and are completely online. There is no
orientation or face-to-face meeting. You must register for the
workshop by the Saturday before the start date. The cost is
$30.00. The fee is non-refundable after the start date of the
class. The workshop will take a week to complete. Do not wait until
the last minute to begin the workshop.
A few notes for
students in the online workshops It is
your responsibility to check in no later than Friday. Failure to
begin the class on time will put you seriously behind. If you
contact your instructor before the start of the workshop, and you do
not receive a response right away, the course may not yet be
available. The course site will not appear in your Blackboard list
of "My Courses" until the instructor makes it available - generally
the afternoon or evening before the workshop is scheduled to begin.
You will be sent an email to your Edison email address when the
workshop is available.

Registration Procedures
You must be
admitted to the college to participate in this workshop.
Complete the
Registration form.
Pay for
workshop at the time of registration. The fee is $30.00.
Registration fee is non-refundable after the start date of
class.
Check into the
Blackboard course site within the first three days and follow
the instructions there.
The Workshop begins on Wednesday and ends on Tuesday at
midnight. There are specific tasks that are time sensitive, so
begin as soon as possible.
If you are unable to access Blackboard before the workshop
begins, please call the Registration Office to be transferred to
the next available workshop at 1-800-922-3722 ext. 7940. No
refunds will be issued after the start date of the workshop.
