- The meeting
was called to order by Jane Salisbury. The charge given by the CQI
Steering Committee regarding the team’s function was explained:
The team is being directed to devise a checklist-type information
sheet that will give guidance for those preparing to retire. It
should include but not be limited to action timelines, steps taken
with retirement-related organizations and with Edison Community
College, and possible contact information.
- General
discussion ensued. It was noted that healthcare benefits and
social security benefits should also be touched upon.
- Keith
Kamerer’s office had researched what various states might have
already done in this regard. Nothing was found representing
Ohio, but several other states have prepared retirement
preparation documents. Keith’s office will make copies for
distribution to team embers. Likewise, STRS/PERS have prepared
multiple documents brochures addressing this issue. Those, too,
will be supplied by the HR office.
- A
second meeting will be held December 6, 2004 from 2:00 – 3:00 in
Room 161-A for further discussion. It is anticipated this
process development will be completed by early second semester
for any anticipating a spring retirement.
