Meeting Minutes
September 27, 2007
Present:
Ann Miller, Brad Reed, Stacey Bean, Chuck Steel and Becki Lawhorn
Absent: David Gansz and Jane Salisbury-CQI Process Leader.
The next steps from the April 2007 meeting were reviewed:
Ann Miller:
Create survey in Zoomerang for focus group students with the
list of care words.
Survey
results shared with team. Ann has already put some of the
preferred care words into practice on the Edison web site.
Work with Gretchen Rentz to create an online form for the campus
visit requests.
The form has
been created and to date 60 people have completed the form to
schedule a visit.
Make online registration available for scheduled Edison open
house.
There is a
form available on line with all of the 2007-2008 open houses
listed. Uses of this have been minimal maybe 6 registrations per
event.
Ann Miller/Brad Reed:
Approach senate about publication of email addresses and
faculty profiles.
Some
discussion surrounded this issue regarding the legality of
publishing all faculty and staff email on the web site. Brad
Reed will take this to the next cabinet meeting for input.
Brad Reed:
Work with students to create cost estimator. Work with
students to update virtual tour. (Timeline end of fall
semester.)
The cost estimator is complete, Brad will send to Ann Miller
to be added to the web site.
Talk to Bob Agnew about writing a faculty blog for Edison.
Brad spoke with Dr. Agnew and he is willing to try this
project. Ann Miller will contact Dr. Agnew to see what she can
do to assist him in beginning the project.
Gretchen Rentz/Becki Lawhorn:
Continue progress on revamping content of admissions and
registration web sites.

Stacey Bean was added to the team to replace Gretchen Rentz

Becki asked for assistance in revamping the text on the
registration web site into a more web friendly version.

Ann Miller presented a list of topics for web sites from and
email she received from Dr. Yowell. These topics were shared
with Becki and Stacey as possible additions to their sections of
the Edison web site.

Becki Lawhorn:
Forward information regarding online application options that
will integrate with Datatel.

A group (Dan Reke, Sandy Brubaker, Carol Marion, Theron
Niekamp, Gail Lee, Becki Lawhorn and Ann Miller) has been
meeting to discuss the online application process and are
working toward an integrated solution that will work with
Datatel within the college’s current budgetary restraints.

Ann Miller has developed a secure form to collect the
admission application information as well as credit card
information that is being manually entered into Datatel.

Theron Niekamp is investigating the possibility of integration
using the same procedures as the online transcript project.
Next Steps:
Ann Miller:
Work with Dr. Agnew in the creation and promotion of his blog
for Edison.
Brad Reed:
Publication of email addresses on the Edison web site, take to
the next cabinet meeting for input.
Check with student to assist Stacey Bean and Becki Lawhorn with
the content on the admissions and registration web site.
Becki Lawhorn:
Begin work on the revision of content on the registration web
site.
Stacey Bean:
Begin work on the revision of the content on the admissions web
site and continue work on the parent’s information section of
the Edison web site.
