Meeting Minutes
September 8, 2006

Present:  Ann Miller, Brad Reed, Gretchen Grilliot, Chuck Steel, David Gansz and Jane Salisbury-CQI Process Leader.

Absent: Becki Lawhorn

The committee reviewed the results of the Zoomerang survey that was completed by 160 participants.  Participants included students in the XLN course, GEN 101, NET 101 and random web site visitors.

 The survey results discussion included:

• Student interest in online options for:

  • Advising

  • Assessment

  • Technical Support

  • Tutoring

    • David Gansz indicated that he and Truman Bashore are working on making information about SmartThinking more available internally to faculty.

    • Currently students can access SmarthThinking by visiting the Learning Center or through some Blackboard course areas.

  • Career Services

    • A decision was made by the committee to forward this information to Sandy Brubaker for further evaluation in her area.

 Team charge:
Review, evaluate and propose changes to the Edison web site to promote increased user satisfaction.

Next steps:
Committee members will review the current Edison homepage and sort out information based on what applies to students, staff and the public side prior to the next meeting. 

Brad Reed will work with his NET capstone students on a usability test of the current Edison web site. Brad felt that a mid-semester date would be appropriate to have data available for this committee.

 Ann Miller also indicated that the marketing committee would also be discussing the web site at their next scheduled meeting.
