New Items:
The committee reviewed the E-Expectations document sent to all
committee members by Becki Lawhorn. The following items and action
items were identified as important according to this Noel Levitz
report:
·
Complete a financial
aid estimator
o
The FAFSA4caster was
launched last week and is now a link on the Edison Financial Aid web
page.
·
Complete a tuition
cost calculator
o
Brad Reed will work
with students to create a basic Flash file to help students complete
this task online.
o
Ann Miller feels the
need to bring the college fees to a more prominent location on the
web site.
·
Request a campus visit
o
Students are currently
able to complete this request on the RLN web site. The committee
thought this might be better as a simple web form displayed
prominently on the Edison web site. Ann Miller will work with
Gretchen Rentz on this project.
·
Complete and
admissions application online
o
Becki Lawhorn will
forward information to Ann Miller about some possible alternatives
to online applications that will integrate with Datatel.
o
Ann Miller has been
working with Cecelia Green and Carol Marion to obtain information
from Datatel/Liquid Matrix to accomplish this using our current
system.
·
Instant Message and
admissions counselor
o
Ann Miller and Stacey
Bean have been working on this project. A quick questions web form
has also been deployed and is getting a lot of use. Gretchen Rentz
said that this information is now being included as part of the view
book for potential students.
o
Becki Lawhorn would
like to also add this capability for the registrar’s office.
·
Complete a form to
RSVP for a campus event
o
Ann Miller created a
small web site for the last open house. It was agreed that this
practice should be continued for future Edison events.
·
Submit a form online
to receive more information
o
This is currently in
use on a secure server to collect personal information like SS#. A
quick question form is also available to students.
·
View a virtual tour
o
Brad Reed will work
with students during the fall semester to update the current tour
with a tour of the new building.
·
E-mail a faculty
member/Read profiles of faculty members
o
It was decided to
present this topic at a senate meeting for discussion.
·
Read a blog written by
a member of the faculty
o
Brad Reed will
approach Dr. Bob about the idea.
·
Fill out a form to get
a personalized view book
o
Our information is not
that voluminous that sending all of the information to potential
students is cost prohibitive.
·
Enter information
about your interest to see a personalized web page
o
The feelings of the
committee after a recommendation from Brad Reed is that this might
offer a “thinned down version” of the web site.
·
Read profiles of
current students
o
Gretchen Rentz is
working to collect student stories.
·
Read a blog written by
a current student
o
Our current Edison
student blogger Kaitlyn Comer is doing a great job on her student
blog.
