Performance
Teams
-
User
Accounts: Dan Reke provided an update for the User
Accounts Process Team, indicating that a summer deployment is still
intended. Four separate cross-functional teams are working through
the myriad of tasks to be completed before our initial deployment.
-
Web
Design Process Team: Ann Miller reported that an online survey
was being deployed to institutions within our cohort asking for
information regarding the management of their web sites. Once
responses have been reviewed the team will determine next steps,
taking into consideration the recommendations presented by Bob
Sevier.
-
B and I
Online Registration Team: Shirley Apple-Shoup indicated
that the online registration process seems to be working well. This
registration process also provides a means of giving out parking,
room, and time information relevant to the specific class.
-
Student
Records Security Team: Jane Salisbury presented the
recommendations of the team. It was determined that so many
different staff and office areas have such different practices for
record storage that no single process would be appropriate for all
areas. The general recommendations of the team involve reducing the
use of the social security numbers, increasing the use of student ID
numbers, and monitoring closely other pieces of personal
information, including credit card numbers. The AQIP 7 team and the
new picture student ID will support this team’s recommendations as
we investigate a digital imaging system. (Recommendations accepted
by the CQI Steering Committee. President Yowell will forward the
recommendations to the college community).
-
Add/Drop/Refund Process Team: Velina Bogart discussed the
recommended drop dates for full refund. By reducing the time
allowed for a full refund the college stands to save over $100,000
tuition dollars per academic year, not including summer session.
That amount would be increased even more by laboratory, technology,
and general fees. (Recommendations accepted by the CQI Steering
Committee and forwarded to the college community by Dr. Salisbury on
April 11, 2008).
New Team
Requests: none
AQIP: The
college is being recognized by the Higher Learning Commission as an AQIP
vanguard institution having completed its first reaffirmation of
accreditation cycle. Dr. Salisbury is to accept that award on behalf of
Edison as the college’s AQIP liaison.
All Action
Project teams are on task and progressing as scheduled.
CQIN:
The 2008 CQIN Team will be Dr. McNutt, Cindy Carbone, Sharon Brown, Dr.
Yowell, and Dr. Salisbury. The Summer Institute will focus on
legendary service, employee engagement, and relentless improvement
with two-Baldrige winner, The Ritz-Carleton, as the primary learning
partner. Our team’s focus will be on employee engagement.
