Overview of how
CQI process works
Overview of past
committee decisions since committee has changed significantly
Propose to update
language of current lab deployment process
The CQI lab deployment process was developed with new lab implementation
as the primary focus. With this in mind, the committee has proposed to apply
the process to existing labs to keep the software current and as
standardized as possible. This would allow the “time required” to be edited
to “up to” time as not replacing hardware will help speed the process along.
Define time
parameters, based on deconflict meeting and room assignments, to start each
semester’s lab deployment process
This will provide ITS and all other departments on campus enough time to
check system requirements and to thoroughly test and implement lab
deployments. This will also help in strategic planning for the department
and College.
Create a check
list with timeline of deployment process everyone can follow and update
This may be a form that everyone in the process could reference to
follow the progress and specifications. This will most likely be in
electronic format.
Propose to have
an additional step added to lab deployment process
Have the Deans assign a faculty member as a “room/software responsible”
faculty member work with ITS on specified labs. This will allow faculty
members hands- on time with a technician to work out any issues well before
the start of classes.
Next Meeting:
-
Jeff, Tim, and
Carol will create a preliminary check list for the deployment process.
-
Timelines will
need to be discussed to allow for enough lead time for all lab
deployments
