AQIP 8/CQIN 2005
Meeting Minutes ~ May 2, 2006
Those present: Bert
Waldrop, Steve Whiteman, Randi Wheaton, Julie Slattery, Jane Salisbury
Those absent:
President Yowell
Dr. Salisbury opened the
meeting and stated that the goal of the day was to review the Edison
Communication Repository and determine the next steps to be taken. The
Repository was a one-year AQIP Action Project and will be concluded as
such in August of 2006. However, it was mentioned specifically as a
strength in our Systems Portfolio Feedback Report in Section 2P2a, and
was included in the double strength recognizing our overall
communication efforts. Therefore, it can be modified to make it even
more effective, but cannot be dropped.

Not all administrators are using this venue for
discussion. It is being used well in Student Development and the
library. Some comments within discussion boards reflect there may not
be a need for such a communication source. That seems to be true of
those areas where there are frequent department meetings and from those
faculty and staff who are located in close proximity with their
supervisors. Others make comments reflecting their appreciation of the
discussion area.
·
The team will ask Dr. Yowell to encourage administrators
again in the fall to capitalize on this site, especially because the
academic re-organization will have a larger span of control in most
areas, both in people and in location.
The team members agreed this
Repository has had positive impact on college communication, some
aspects more than others. They wish to continue their support and
monitoring of the Repository throughout next year even though the Action
Project per se will be drawn to a close in August.
Dr. Salisbury will send out
an email to all employees summarizing the most recent survey entries and
the actions taken. In the fall she will send a reminder email
describing the buses and their functions. A second email will be sent
in the fall clarifying again that the buses are secure—all entries
anonymous expect the Sharing on the Bus. That is not because access is
through individual Blackboard sites.
No meeting is planned before
fall.
