MINUTES
AUGUST 23, 2002
MEMBERS
PRESENT: Iden Smith, Becky Telford, Truman Bashore, Matha Schleinitz,
Ann Miller, and Ruth Barney
The team
tentatively scheduled 2:00 p.m. on Tuesdays as its meeting time for fall
semester. The next meeting is scheduled for September 3.
The team needs to
review its Action Project and finalize it be September 18.
The team reviewed
the comments from the Strategy Forum that were compiled by Jane Salisbury.
There were no suggested changes to the project at this point. The issue
will be addressed again at the next meeting. Team members were asked to
think of changes to improve the project.
The chair
distributed the questions that must be addressed in our progress update to
AQIP next year.
The Blackboard
programs described in the Action Plan have been developed and are being
held. Ann Miller and Cecelia Green are doing these programs for staff and
students.
During the fall
semester the Team needs to do several things that were part of the Action
Project:
- The Project
calls for students’ success rates in courses sections with online
content to be compared to traditional sections of the same courses.
Becky Telford will identify courses which are taught in at least two of
the three modes: traditional, WEBFLEX, and online.
- Student
satisfaction with online and WEBFLEX courses needs to be determined. A
survey was piloted this summer. Ann Miller will provide a copy to the
AQIP Team for review.
- Students who
are not successful in online and WEBFLEX need to be surveyed to
determine reasons for their not succeeding. They are to be surveyed
using Blackboard. The team needs to develop this survey.
