MINUTES
FEBRUARY 24, 2005
MEMBERS PRESENT:
Matha Schleinitz, Maggie Myers, Ruth Barney, Ann Miller, and Iden Smith
The minutes of the
January 27 meeting were approved as submitted.
The Team continued
to revise the student evaluation of instruction form. The revised for is
attached. Ruth Barney and Matha Schelinitz will pre-test the form in their
classes. Becky Telford will assist. The Team recommends that the
evaluation be done in weeks 13 – 15 of the course.
The Team discussed
the continuation of its activities after the Team’s project ends this
year.
- It is suggested
that the office of the Vice-President of Education continue sending
postcards to online students.
- Maggie Myers
will continue to send out the online and webflex advising checklist
prior to registration each semester. She will also add it to the
advising handbook.
- The
Professional Development Committee will have responsibility for the
continuation of training for online and webflex instructors.
- Ann Miller will
continue collecting Blackboard statistics and will contine Blackboard
training for students, faculty, and staff.
- The College’s
dashboard system will include data similar to the success data that the
Team has been collecting.
The Team discussed
what final recommendations it might want to make as it ends its project.
One suggestion was the implementation of a minimum GPA for online
students. Further discussions will occur at future meetings.
