1. The agenda was accepted.
2. The minutes from the last meeting were reviewed.
3. Actions since the last meeting were summarized.

This Fall 2002 semester, 14 faculty (10 full time, 4 part time) used the alert. This involved 53 students.

This represents approximately a 50% reduction in the alerts issued.

The implication is that the faculty is taking on a more active role in the intervention of students.

The majority of the alerts are attendance related.
4. Follow up steps:
- Maggie and Becky Pepiot will work on a follow up summary of the reports to report success rates of these 53 students.
- This process should be reinforced with the faculty each semester. Dr. Salisbury will check with Dr. Yowell about sending out his email each semester. Maggie will do this if he approves.
- Reminder should be sent to faculty early enough for them to actually address the issues with students. (Fourth week?)
- Deans and Staffing Coordinators should support this process with adjuncts at their meetings each semester. ??? will ask them to do this.
- Maggie will work with Becky Telford to determine the number of unsuccessful students in Fall 2001 and Fall 2002 to see if there were any changes.
5. Other discussion:
- The learning center has been busy with Physics and Math students.
- Students this semester seem reluctant to go to the learning center or ask for help.
- Student attitudes do not seem success oriented this semester.
6. Next Meeting
The committee will meet again during spring semester (before spring break) to discuss our findings and look at recommendations.
