Those absent: Becky Pepiot, Cathy Barrow
1. Meeting called to order by Jane Salisbury.
2. Discussion of draft position statement of team, as prepared by Jim
Funkhouser. Added to the discussion were points by Janice Michael
regarding the number of students who were developmental/high risk
and how many semesters those students receiving deficiencies had attended.
How many different students were represented by the 177 deficiencies
mailed out. (Myers/Bashore).
3. After lengthy conversation, it was determined the drafted statement still reflected the opinion of the committee but needed an addendum emphasizing the role of faculty in some type early intervention process. Jim Funkhouser will revise the draft statement.
4. The newly drafted statement will be e-mailed to all team members for their
input before Jim presents to the CQI Steering Committee on Friday.
5. Should the team proposal to modify expectations for contacting students who
are struggling academically be accepted by the CQI Steering Committee, those changes will be posted on the CQI Web page, given to Shirley Gilliland
for inclusion in the adjunct faculty handbook, and distributed to all college staff though some means. These issues are to be coordinated by Jane Salisbury.
