MINUTES

I.
Dr. Salisbury reviewed the charge of the committee for Dr.
McNutt. The purpose of the meeting is to determine if any changes need
to be made.
II. Maggie reviewed
the academic alert process to provide a common basis of
understanding for all.
III. Maggie shared
the success rate chart over the past 5 years.

IV.
Discussion of the process followed that involved the difficulty in
contacting students, and the low return rate on our investment of time.
Some faculty members feel that it is ineffective. Others appreciate the
opportunity.
V. Overall Summary – the committee feels the effort is important
if we can help even just a few students. Since the process has become
very cumbersome it was recommended that we contact the student by letter
and not try the phone calls.
VII. Next Meeting –
Maggie will do a summary of the alerts for the next year.
The committee will meet
again in January 2009 to review the process again.
