Add/Drop/Refund Policies Team |
Minutes
October 2, 2007
Members:
Maggie Myers, Lisa Hall, Velina Bogart, Doreen Miller, Judy Hunolt,
Becky Pepiot and Dr. Jane Salisbury facilitator.
Charge: To review and recommend changes to the CQI Steering
Committee regarding the ADD/DROP/REFUND policies in order to
increase operational efficiency and student success.
Meeting was called to order at 11:00 am.
This organizational meeting was set forth to discuss the committee’s
purpose, representation, concerns, and meeting frequency.
Dr. Jane Salisbury elaborated on the purpose of this committee by
sharing concern initiated at President’s Cabinet regarding the need
for re-alignment of Edison’s add/drop/refund policies to eliminate
inconsistencies.
Dr. Salisbury also shared information gathered by Janice Michael,
Dean of Darke County Campus, regarding the charging policies of
other area colleges when students register late or make schedule
changes.
It was decided that additional representation from Dr. Mindy McNutt,
V.P. of Education, a faculty member, and a Datatel expert, such as
Carol Marion, Director of Administrative Computing, may eventually
be needed. Dr. Jane Salisbury will invite Dr. McNutt to the next
meeting. Other faculty or staff will be invited to attend as the
need arises.
Areas of concern that were expressed as being affected include
Financial Aid, Bookstore charging, Registration, Billing, and Post
Secondary Education Option students. Ms. Lisa Hall suggested that a
timeline of when events happen may assist the team in recommending
changes. Ms. Maggie Myers volunteered to draw up the timeline to
present at the next meeting.
Ms. Velina Bogart volunteered to be the team’s leader.
The next meeting date was set for Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at
9:45am in the Board Room.
Meeting adjourned at 11:50am.
Minutes respectfully submitted by Velina Bogart on October 5, 2007.
