The
Preschool at Edison
is a developmental preschool
program for children ages 3-5. Children will participate in
activities that will support cognitive, physical, social,
emotional, and creative development. While play will be the
primary strategy used, it will be planned and with purpose
around each activity. Children will be involved in
decision-making and problem solving in a print-rich environment
that includes blocks, manipulatives, computer, dramatic play,
and sand/water centers. Books and early reading and writing
activities are an important part of the program.
The Preschool at Edison
is lead by head teacher,
Natalee Heath. Her teacher assistants are students in Edison’s
early childhood program. Parents are important to the program
and their participation and feedback is encouraged.
The Preschool at Edison
will begin the Tuesday following Labor Day in September, from
8:45 – 11:45. It will operate four days a week, Monday through
Thursday. Preschool will conclude on the Thursday prior to
Memorial Day.
Prepaid monthly payments of
$100.00/month are expected for children in preschool 4 days each
week. Children may attend 1, 2, or 3 days a week at $2.25 per
hour. Parents must sign up for the number of days they expect
to attend.
