Do you have a
Hotmail or Yahoo e-mail account?
You may be missing important information
and updates from Edison
Two systems at Edison, Blackboard and the college’s
computing system, Datatel are used to generate e-mails
to students with critical information such as usernames
and passwords, course assignments and information about
your account at Edison. If you are using a Hotmail or
Yahoo e-mail account there is a very good chance that
you are not seeing these e-mails.
E-mail sent through Blackboard and Datatel goes out as a
blind carbon copy. When the e-mail arrives at the Yahoo
and the Hotmail servers those systems see this e-mail as
potential spam and the e-mails are delivered to the end
users spam or bulk e-mail folder. That’s not good
because it is very easy then for the e-mails to be
overlooked and deleted. You can remedy this problem by
making a few changes in your Yahoo and Hotmail accounts
to better assure that you will receive important
information from Edison.
