• WebAdvisor Tips

WebAdvisor is a dynamic resource that can be used to search for course offerings online. While you can browse, you will not be able to register for courses until you become an Edison State student. After becoming a student, WebAdvisor also provides access to payment information, financial aid status, grades, course registration, class schedules and more. The following step-by-step instructions have been provided to help you search for courses that you may be interested in.

    Search for Classes
  • WebAdvisor Tips

    • You must choose a Term. Late term classes are grouped separately. Early term classes are grouped with the full term.
    • You do not need to enter a start or end date. Leave these blank.
    • Do not  select a Course Level.
    • Leave the other options blank for now.
    • Click SUBMIT.

    WebAdvisor Tips

    • If you want to find all sections of Psychology that meet on Tuesday and/or Thursday, choose "Psychology" from the Subjects list.
    • Check boxes for Tue and Thu.
    • If you want to limit search results to classes meeting after noon, you may choose that option in Sections Meeting After.
    • Once you have selected the criteria that meets your needs, click SUBMIT.

    WebAdvisor Tips

    • Term   The Term column confirms that you are searching class sections for the term you intended.
    • Status   The Status column indicates whether the course section is OPEN (available for registration), WAITLISTED (full, but could be added to a waitlist) or CLOSED (full, but does not yet have a waitlist).
    • Section Name and Title   You may get results for more than one course title, depending on how you restricted your search. In the example, the first seven results are for PSY-121S: Intro to Psychology, but the balance are for other Psychology courses. Be sure to check this column carefully.
    • Meeting Information   This column contains start date, end date, course type (lecture, etc.), days, start time, end time, location and room.
    • Start/End Date   For Full term courses, the start and end dates correspond to the beginning and end of the semester. For shorter terms (Early, Late, A Mod, etc.) start and end dates correspond to the beginning and end of the term. Be sure you check start and end dates carefully.
    • Days   In Step 1, you clicked the search parameter for sections held on Tue and Thu. This screen will show results for any combination of Tuesday and Thursday. Some are both, some are only one of those days.
    • Start/End Time   Class starting and ending time.
    • Location and Room   Be sure to look for "Darke County Campus" in the Meeting Information column. These classes are held in Greenville.
    • Faculty   The name of the faculty member teaching the section will appear here, if the staffing determination has been made.
    • Available/Capacity   The first number is how many seats remain. The second number is total number of seats available in the section.
    • Credits   Number of semester hours.

    • You can further restrict search results by Course Number. For example, searching for Psychology using only the Subjects field, will return results for ALL available Psychology courses, PSY-121S, 122S, 124S, 125S, etc.
    • To see results for ONLY PSY-121S, select "Psychology" in the Subjects field and fill in "121S" in the Course Number field.  NOTE  You MUST include the "S" at the end of the course number ("D" for Developmental courses: course numbers less than 100; "L" or "R" for internship courses).
    • Click SUBMIT.
