Waitlist Procedures
Waitlisting provides you with
the opportunity to be notified if a seat in a full
course becomes available.
The waitlisting is conducted
primarily through email and WebAdvisor, although you
will be able to register for waitlisted courses over
the phone or in Registration and Records once you
have been granted permission to register. Notices of
available spaces will be sent to only to the email
account that you have on file in our database. It is
very important that you verify that we have the
correct email address at the time you waitlist
yourself or you will not receive notification of
seat availability.
Once notified, you will be
able to accept these spaces using the "Manage My
Waitlists" feature on WebAdvisor. Notices will be
sent out at 6:31 p.m. each business day during the
waitlist period; you will have 24 hours (until 6:29
p.m. the following day) to register for the class.
The option to waitlist will end at the end of the
registration period for each term.
If you are on a waitlist, you
should check your email every day. If you receive an
email telling you that you have been offered a space
in a class, log on to WebAdvisor or contact
Registration and Records before the expiration
date/time stated in the email. To claim your seat in
the class, select “Manage My Waitlists” from the
main menu page. You will see that the “Status”
column next to the class in question states
“Permission to Register”. To enroll in the class,
choose “Register” from the drop-down box in the
“Action” column next to the class, and click the
“Submit” button at the bottom of the page. You
will be taken to a Registration Results screen if
your attempt was successful. BE SURE TO
CHECK THIS SCREEN!
If for any reason you are not
eligible to take the class (e.g. too many hours,
conflicts with another course, you haven’t completed
the pre-requisite, etc.), you will not be enrolled.
If you need to drop classes in order to accept
your space in a waitlisted class, you can do so at
the same time that you add the waitlisted class.
Your complete current schedule is at the bottom of
the waitlist page; place checkmarks in the “Drop”
column next to classes you wish to remove from your
schedule. If for any reason you are unable to add
the waitlisted class, the entire transaction will
fail and you will not be added or dropped from
classes. If you encounter problems adding a
waitlisted course, please contact Registration and
Records before the expiration date at
937-778-7940 for assistance between the hours noted
in your email.
NOTE: If you have not
met the pre-requisite but you think that you have
special circumstances that will allow you to take
the class regardless of pre-requisite completion,
you will not be able to resolve this using
WebAdvisor. You must come to the Registration and
Records to try and resolve your issue before your
waitlist eligibility time expires.
If for any reason you fail to
add the course during the 24-hour period in which
you are eligible, you will be dropped from the
waitlist. A dropped student must re-add the class on
WebAdvisor to obtain a new place on the waitlist.
You do not regain your former place on the waitlist;
instead you drop to the bottom of the list.
NOTE: If you decide to drop a
course, you must do so via WebAdvisor, phone, or in
person at either campus. Non-attendance is not
sufficient to drop a course.
