Edison Community College does not collect any personal information about you when you visit our website unless you make such information available to us voluntarily.  Our web server automatically records only the Internet domain and Internet Protocol (IP) address from which you accessed our website. This does not result in the identification of any of your personal information.  We do not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable. This means that user sessions will be tracked, but the users will remain anonymous.

 If you are a named user (i.e. you have a faculty/staff/student network login, hence accessibility to login-protected portions of the website), both your user account name and IP address are logged.  Such User Accounts are PID (personal identifiable information) covered under the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).  FERPA provides students access to information about themselves, permits students to challenge such information about themselves, and limits the release of such information about students without the student’s explicit written consent.  Edison adheres to FERPA.  Any questions or concerns regarding your privacy as regards FERPA may be directed to the college Registrar.

 Edison does not collect any personal information about you unless you provide that information voluntarily by sending e-mail, completing an online information request form, completing the online application, or completing online registration.  Whatever personal information you may choose to share with us—by sending us a message or completing an electronic form with personal information—will be used solely to complete your request.  We will not disclose your information to third parties unless required to do so by state or federal law.

 Edison has implemented procedures to safeguard the integrity of its information technology assets, including authentication, authorization, monitoring, auditing, and encryption. These security procedures have been integrated into the design, implementation, and day-to-day operations of edisonohio.edu as part of our continuing commitment to the security of electronic content as well as the electronic transmission of information.
