Associate of Arts (AA) Degree - 60 semester hours
The Associate of Arts (AA) degree is one of two University Transfer programs offered at Edison. The AA allows a student to complete the first two years of study for nearly any baccalaureate (bachelor's) major in the social sciences, humanities and arts. The AA curriculum parallels the traditional university liberal arts degree. It provides an excellent academic background and prepares the student to select a major in the junior year. The AA degree also serves those students seeking two years of general education with emphasis in the arts, social sciences or humanities.
Students following a transfer curriculum are strongly encouraged to plan their courses with the assistance of a faculty advisor and with respect to the specific program requirements at the transfer institution. Efficient transfer requires careful planning. Changing programs or transfer institutions may complicate the transfer process or necessitate the taking of additional courses.
