Computer Electronics option
The Computer Electronics
program prepares students for the design, interface, installation, and
troubleshooting of computer hardware, networking, and electronic
control systems. Emphasis
is on electronics, microprocessors, microprocessor-based control
systems, microcomputer hardware, operating systems and networking, and
computer programming. Students
will integrate hardware with software and explore alternative
trade-offs in the process of problem-solving and troubleshooting.
Graduates of this program can
function as electronics technicians, electronics installation and
repair specialists, computer programmers, network installation and
maintenance technicians, and applications engineers.
A person must have a comprehensive understanding of electronics
hardware, computer hardware and networking requirements, and computer
programming to work at this level in business and industry.
