The men’s and women’s basketball
teams came up with two big “come from behind” wins against
our rivals from the south last night and one game that one
may describe as a game for the ages!
In the
first game of the double header, the Lady Chargers found
themselves trailing 24-13 early in the game but narrowed the
Sinclair lead by just one point at halftime. Edison came
out firing in the second half and held Sinclair to just 28
points. Andrea Meyer lead the team with 7 three pointers
for the game and led her team to a 72-58 win!
The men’s
game was virtually dominated by Sinclair for 31 minutes.
Trailing by 22 points with 9 minutes remaining in the game,
Edison persevered and pulled out by what many people said at
the game last night as one of Edison’s most exciting wins in
recent history! 6 Charger players scored in double figures
as Edison defeated Sinclair 82-81.
The Lady
Chargers improved their overall record to 11-4 and 2-2 in
conference play while the men’s overall record is 11-5 and
2-2 in league action.
Both teams
travel to Cleveland this weekend for another conference
matchup as they take on Lorain County C.C. The next home
game for Edison will be next Monday when the Lady Chargers
host Wittenberg at 5:30pm while the men entertain Rio Grande
at 7:30pm.
