Athletic Director, Chip Hare, said it best
in his introduction to the 2006 Region XII Division
III Volleyball Championship award ceremony, "It's a
shame one of these teams had to lose." In a battle on the
road to a national championship two of the nations best
teams met last night. It was even until the end.
Edison State Community College out battled
Columbus State Community College 3-2 for the
honor of representing Region XII in a qualifying match for
the
NJCAA National Division III Volleyball Championships.
Both these
Ohio Community College
Athletic Conference schools have been ranked in
the top ten of the
National Junior College Athletic Association's Division III
Volleyball Poll. Edison State CC is currently number 5
in the nation. Both teams showed their caliber last night.
Every point was fought for, every point earned.
Final game scores were 38-36, 30-28, 26-30, 28-30, 15-8.
Edison State Community College next plays Howard
Community College in Columbia Maryland. Match details and

defeated in three. The Cougars
battled back to win the third game
30-26. Columbus State All-region
selection Ashlee Schreck
slams a kill over Edison State.
Schreck is the nations 15th best
